We’re not doing gifts this year – donating to the food banks and Salvation Army… Also told the kids don’t get us anything – donate to their local charities instead and send us a family photo and a nice card – they agreed…
I understand the need for on line shopping during COVID, I would hope that people would check for the websites of their local stores & shops, otherwise I am afraid those cute shops in your town will be gone when these lock downs are over.
most things i have ordered are overdue….priority mail should be delivered in 3-5days. it is now 1-1/2 weeks. there is no such thing as quick shipping unless you want to pay the big bucks.
We only buy gifts for husband’s 2 nieces (my niblings are grown and in late 20s, early 30s, his are a teenager and a preteen). We don’t normally buy anything online unless there is NO other way to buy it as we always have problems with ordered items/delivery. But since we are not going out and will not be seeing them, he figured he would order online for them and have it shipped to their mom, his sister. He got an item for each of them from his sister and figured he would order them on Amazon and since it would be more than US$25 it would free shipping. Ha ha! The gifts are from 2 different sellers so the just over $25 purchase is costing over $35 with the shipping plus the sales tax.
Hopefully the right gifts, in the colors ordered will arrive undamaged at their house.

Tell him that the gifts are for the grandchildren and for him not to spoil the surprise for them.

Is hiding gifts that come in the post inherently more difficult than hiding gifts bought at the store?
Alternate: just tell him his present is in the box and to leave it alone. He’s an adult, after all.

Appeal to the mature adult nature Ben has in such abundance. Yeah, that’s the ticket!

Next year order things with “slow” shipping. Or shop later.

My wife and I don’t bother with subterfuge. Yesterday I went to buy my own present. She bought hers last week.

Put it someplace he’ll never go, like the dishwasher.

Unless you have separate profiles, he’s gonna see your browsing history or e-mail confirmations.
