Her comment about the list exchange explanation lost me. This year everyone in the family is donating to others favorite charities with exception of the two young boys. They will receive gifts.

I’d love to get a list of what the men in my life want/need. My dad’s birthday was the second of January. What could you get a man who didn’t smoke or wear neckties? and only a week between Christmas and his birthday! Hubby’s is November 29th – and he doesn’t smoke or wear neckties, either.

Another clueless, bumbling fool who’s lucky to have a wonderful woman who puts up with him.

That explains it alright, Ben has very little and his wife has pretty much everything.

Maybe Ben is like me. I give out a long wish list when asked, knowing I won’t get it all, and thus making what I get more of a surprise. :-)

Looks like he wants a lot more than her.

I was wondering whether their lists were for Xmas or for life together — chores, TV preferences, food likes, etc. Everyone here seems to be assuming Xmas lists, so perhaps that is what Daniel Shelton had in mind, too.

I’ve tried both IRL. With a short list “I didn’t think you wanted one of those.” With a long list “That’’s too much, you’re not getting any!”

Sometimes…a short list will cost more than a long one.
