Former Vice President Joe Biden in discussing how he and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) will deal with disagreements told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Thursday that he will handle it much like he did with former President Barack Obama.

“The thing we are simpatico on our philosophy of government and simpatico on how we want to approach these issues that we’re facing, and so I don’t have – and when we disagree, it will be just like — so far it’s been just like Barack and I did. It’s in private. She’ll say I think we should do A, B, C, or D, and I’ll say I like A, don’t like B or C. Okay, and like I told Barack, if I read something where there’s a fundamental disagreement we have based on a moral principle, I’ll develop some disease and say I have to resign,” Biden said.

Whether he was telling the truth or not, the fact is that he wasn’t joking, as most previous commenters seem to think. He was speaking about what the Vice President should do in a disagreement with the President. So the commenters are probably right that he shouldn’t have said it, since he would be trying to bind Kamala Harris to an action that she might not want to take. Whether she should (in that circumstance) is a matter purely for her decision. (By the way, an unlikely circumstance. They are both extremely moral persons, at least on previous appearance.)

As to this alleged Biden dialogue: You wish.

Listen to his press conference on Saturday. Off the cuff, and infinitely more comprehensible than anything trump has ever uttered while in office, even with the aid of a teleprompter.
