Gorey would have had an additional panel where an alligator emerged from the water and ate the baby. I do like that Gurewitch did this one in the woodcut style.
I remember seeing this one before. It’s originally called ‘Les douleurs de la morte’, produced sometime between 2004 and 2008 in the pbfcomics.com archive.
