Candied fruit and anything containing it should be forbidden by a constitutional amendment. The same goes for hard-boiled eggs. Nevertheless, I have enjoyed a slice of the occasional superb fruitcake. Usually served warm with some sort of enhancement drizzled over it, like rum and caramelized sugar.
But this sad fellow above is almost at the end of his rope. He is holding onto just the slightest dignity by resisting canned fruitcake.

I like fruit cake. Must admit, my grandmother’s fruit cake soaked in rum was the best! Though you had to be 21 or older to eat it. ;)
