Oh pleeeeeease be better than this year!!

Stop jinxing things! Haven’t you noticed that each year we say, “the new year can’t be as bad as the last one,” it ends up being worse?

I know everyone has reasons to hate 2020, and I can respect that. But for me, things took a turn for the better in November. After months of needing financial support, I’ve landed a new job… or, make that I got one of my old jobs back. Either way, I’m working again, and the family has one less thing to worry about.

If 2020 can get better for me, then there’s hope for the rest of the world. Let’s hang in there!

Never Tempt Fate.

I do have a box of Mochi in the refrigerator waiting for New Years.

However, I’m trying to decide if I should head to the Grocery store and pick up some Black Eyed Peas and Ham for the traditional New Years dinner dish of Rice, Ham & B.E. Peas.

NEVER say things like “it has to be better” or “it can’t be any worse.” There is someone up there who listens for just such comments, and then smiles evilly and says, “Ya think so? Try THIS!” and then opens a can of ‘Oh my God, it’s WORSE" upon you. I go with begging and groveling (“Please don’t let it be a sequel to 2020.”) Crossing my fingers and hoping 2021 is better.
