I will NEVER forget. I am a Canadian and my father served in WW II and Korea. He ended up with PTSD..before it was recognized as an illness. Those veterans ( My dad was in the RCAF) suffered the rest of their lives and no one cared.

Too many of the new generation do not even know why we have Memorial Day. Not a clue?

Well, isn’t that just too damn bad. If you haven’t been to war, your feelings and opinion rate about half of those who serve and have served.

anyone who has lost a loved one, friend, acquaintance to war will be feeling their absence Memorial Day as well as every day of their lives. My dad served in World War ll and was one of the fortunate ones to return home. he would never talk his time overseas and he served our country proudly. THANK YU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO EVERYONE WHO SERVED OUR COUNTRY DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY!

Just saw a meme that went around on one of my groups. This tearful little boy, dressed in a suit and tie is being presented with an American flag by a soldier in uniform looking like he is speaking comforting words. There are two tearful ladies sitting near the boy. My heart aches to think of this little boy growing up without his daddy who died in the service of his country.
