Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Panel 1 {Police Headquarters}:
Eagle and Jefferson ? Chief Buzz misdirects the Fuzz. Didnât the King say (6-12-09) turn âWrightâ ?
Panel 2 {The Casino}
Currency collapse ? The hand is quicker than the eye (?) Who pinched the missing One million ? Ouch !
Panel 3 {Outside the Art Studio}
Big âTonsâ tells Skinny âTonsâ â âHere is the evidence ! Nobody beats him â they donât call him Big Confusion for nothing. Imagine, two bloopers in one day !!
And the whole world clearly sees what thousands of readers complain about our Author falling victim to the *âPhosgene Dilemaâ
Itâs forgetting, and empty to over simplistic content. Gouldâs Empty Williams died from a fall (5-06-51) and âAs a matter aâ factâ Iâd rather have Williams back than a flawed Jack.
*FOR THOSE WHO CAME IN LATE - - Dr. Phosgene was a Kilian character depicted by Locher on a jet flight in 2000 with Tracy, Diet Smith and Miss Spray. Dr. Phosgene disappeared in âmid-flightâ without discernable reason or explanation, never to be seen again. This dilema and others of a similar nature have dogged the strip for several years.
I feel genuinely sorry for the Author who has certainly had better days (and some great moments). But we must thank him and hope he moves on now, age 80, to a Happy retirement full of fond memories.
On 6/12 the King of Clubs told Tracy that Monteâs Casino is on Wright Street. Now itâs at Eagle and Jefferson. Maybe a twister blew it away along with Dorothyâs house in Kansas?
Boy, does Lizz look P.O.âd. I guess I would be mad, 2, if 1 of my police officer was out gambling half a million dollars, and I was stuck in the officeâŠ
Iâll bet that while Big Ace has the Ace (duh) Mr. Tracer has the JOKER!
Well, okay, maybe not, but Big Ace definitely needs a calculator or some scratch paper, seeing that he canât even remember how much heâs betting on from shuffle to shuffle.
Jeff said (on whatâs âgoing onâ in this storyline) :
âHereâs a little hint â the trouble isnât with USâ ;)
Now no one really believes that you took the trouble to come out of self imposed retitrement to impart âZEROâ Cola type information
Itâs a little disrespectful to imply that all the posters here donât know what the heck is occuring then gratuitously you become âpussy footingâ polite in pointing out that THEY havenât got a clue on what is happening, whlie you and one other (Dick Locher perhaps?) triumphantly do (?).
It would seem to most readers that an Author/Artist HAS a professional obligation to make what he producws easily understandable to his readers, less far-fetched or in need of laborIous interpritation. Even more compelling, IF his target audience happens to be young children. And in the âflexibeâ world of rearranging comic-strip âfactsâ (at times for convenience), letâs not have a Mattie like âNO-ballâ e.g. â âLocher only has to please his Editorsâ. A position, by ommisson implying, that the Author can display a far less civilized physical action toward his readers (lâeau de caneton jaune).
But Mattie will find out as he grows up into a big Duck (and contemplates that action) that there is a huge differece between barely âgetting byâ and scoring 100%. In this competetive world, the just âgetting byâ strip or Artist quickly looses readership and circulation.
The situation with the current story line in not ambigious in any way . Itâs crearly rediculous, flawed in two major areas (IN the Authorâs written text) and in several others, misleadinging and inauthentic, as a Police Detective strip
If everything was all so simple and easy to understand you wouldnât be here doing a âBack to Baatanâ invasion effort. But if you do feel a compulsion to be here, please shine a powerful searchlight on the important facts that we are all missing. Time to stop âhintingâ. Time to hit the nail with the hammer !
I donât expect you to ! For like me, you know they are none !
Fess up ! Weâd all like a reason to cease eating Prunes in June.
Glad to, if I knew specifically âwhatâ you need clarified. I take it that you read my first post earlier on this morning shortly after yours ? Thatâs the essence of todayâs subject plus Jeffâs indirect, tepid, (nothing of substance) response.
Heâs become a âblack beltâ master of verbal moves and âfakingâ hints that look good but cant seem to put any successful Ideas down on the boards.
Pity ! In many a way I like him, but like someone else we know, needs to overcome an obsession that warps and distorts his vision. Anything the current Author writes or draws âstandsâ straight up in his eyes, as if.influenced by Bois Bandeâ (a drink from the bark of a local tree) that has performance enhancing qualities
Hey Grok and/or Sydney - Did Mattie or little Jeffie post something and then delete it? I havenât seen hide nor hair out of those two in monthsâŠâŠ.. Donât think Iâm complaining! Iâm not! I miss them like I miss a hemmoroid. Being a charter member of the Magpies is an honor!
I rather liked your post about three hours ago. In particular, the paragraph on his obsevation on the pacing, which appearsd to move at âbreakneck speedâ, because the strip hadnât gone backward that week !
I have a clear recollection on that one, and another, of being on theâ edge of his seatâ with excitment, waiting to find out what would happen tomorrow, while everyone else was snoring away like Warren Christopher.
Hadnât noticed but Jeff cancelled that âinvasionâ rather quickly. I guess he realized he didnât have a leg to stand on.
He didnât say much but most of it is captured in Grokâs post Itâs hands up ! And running up the âwhite flagâ. An unconditional surrender and by default an implicit agreement that DL âgoofedâ, TWICE today.
You have to wonder if Mattie is weeping in a corner (?)
And there is more to come in about a week from now !
For the record, GoComics has never threatened to ban complainers. Your assertion, channce, is patently false. Itâs obvious when anyone can look back through the archive and see that the overwhelming majority of comments about this strip are complaints. If complaints got people banned, most of the people on this page would have been banned a long time ago.
Comments about the strip, positive and negative, are welcome. What isnât welcome is abusive language, personal attacks on the cartoonist and other posters, and offensive material as described here: http://www.gocomics.com/help/terms. The user agreement is about protecting cartoonists and other users from abuse and harassment, not stifling dissent or making sure all comments on the site are complimentary and positive. Posting material that violates the terms of your user agreement can lead to a ban, but the agreement leaves plenty of room for complaints about the strip. The Dick Tracy archives are proof of that.
You guys are such pessimists. Be an optimist! Look at the bright side! The word balloons are placed to cover up part of the horribly drawn faces. Rejoice!
Maybe next time theyâll place word balloons to cover up the horribly drawn hands.

Now itâs only half a million?
It started with 3/4 of a million. Went up to 6 million. Then back down to 3/4 of a million, to play for double that. which is only 1/2 a million.
Mr Locher, I can remember the number you put in last week, and a couple days ago, Why canât you?

Is Eagle and Jefferson Napervilleâs S.W.A.T. team? What Liz(z) needs to dispatch is the guys with the butterfly nets and straight jackets.
To the Zitpickerâs Notebook kids: See what happens to you when you donât do your math homework? Youâll wind up like the characters in the strip!

And how many times do we need to be told that Tracy requested back-up / a SWAT team at the casino?
The two flunkies in panel 3 look more like a comedy duo.
