No need to go to all that trouble – just watch a non-HD channel. For a real retro-treat, watch a show from the 70s that was videotaped for broadcast rather than being filmed.
Most of the channels I have come in a regular and HD version. I’ve never cared to watch Star Wars again, but maybe I’ll watch a bit next time it comes up to see if there’s a difference between the two versions of the Sci-Fi channel.
Can confirm that the 70s blew. I do not want to see pictures of myself from back then! The clothes in particular were awful.

People keep hating on the ‘70s, but it gave us a lot of great movies, some of which haven’t lost much with the march of time.
