I feel for you, Donna. The best job I had was on a seismic crew, where for most of the year, we’d work 16-18 days straight and get the rest of the month off. Two weeks!
I spent nearly twenty years working for the only daily newspaper in my home country. I thought I would be there until it was time to retire, but they decided to make me redundant after all I did for them.
I spent years looking for work. Reading the want ads, checking the websites, writing soul-draining application forms and cover letters on a nearly daily basis. I was lucky to get temp jobs every now and then.
Then COVID-19 happened. God forgive me, but it actually gave me the break I needed.
Now, one of my temp jobs took me back in. I’m a photography assistant, taking pictures for passports and visas. I was some kind of busy during the Xmas season, but it helped me climb out of the economic black hole I was in. I’m part-time/on-call until further notice, but it beats having no job at all. And I have to say, I like it better than the newspaper.

Start a fetish video site, where you do weird stuff like rub your feet with peanut butter, or workout while wearing lingerie and combat boots.
