As important as civil rights, etc. are, they are only a part of the larger issues our country faces. We can’t communicate with each other. I long for the days when social issues were discussed civilly without partisan sound bites and memes being the dominant forms of communication. Maybe that never really existed generally, but it seems that it hardly ever does now.
