Labor law mandates the lunch break; if you’re on salary it ends up being optional or eaten while working.
We have to take a lunch on any shift over 5 hours
Has to be at least half an hour, the time clock won’t even let us clock back in until at least 30 minutes have passed
As a rule, companies do not encourage people to “work through” lunch. For one thing, there tends to be too many crumbs on the keyboards. :)
This comic started a lot of debate on the legality of skipping lunch on another site. All I can say is that it’s allowed in my state and I always skip lunch. I’m weird that way.
