The U. S. Men’s National Soccer Team has a better chance of winning the World Cup in my lifetime than their ever finding any treasure on that island. In other words—slim to none.
I found it fascinating the first 2 seasons to think Blackbeard the pirate (or whoever it was) would bury his treasure 300 feet down the shaft and then booby trap it so that the ocean would pour in when the treasure hunter dug down below it! Then I thought, how was the pirate going to retrieve it? But then I still kept on watching until they started to find evidence from Nostradamus that the Biblical Ark of the Covenant was moved there from Israel and that is what Blackbeard wanted to bury 300 feet down. Oh get real! I don’t need to waste my time on that. Actually Zak on the Ghost Adventures is much more believable!
And spend the rest of the episode theorizing how it came from the Hebrew’s lost Ark of the Covenant and figuring out how the Phoenicians brought it over and built a shrine for it, which is how the Templars discovered it and decided to hide it with Shakespeare’s lost manuscripts.
I just like the idea that some guy with too much money was keeping the island economy, not to mention a lot of heavy equipment companies, going. I wonder if the whole thing was started when a couple of guys sitting on the beach said " You know this would be a great place to hide a pirate treasure, wonder what we could find if we dig it up."
I find the POSSIBILITIES interesting. My concern though is providing there IS a treasure, what kind of damage is being done to it in the heavy handed methods of looking for it? Obviously the island was a major seaport at one time or another. Most of the items found so far could be described as debris form prior residents or visitors.Just because a Chinese coin was found that is 1000 years old doesn’t mean China was there 1000 years ago. I carried a 1900 silver dollar for a few years, doesn’t mean I was around in 1900!

Ziggy just knows that if he misses one episode that will be the episode that the treasure is uncovered.
