I have long silver hair, so I’m quite recognizable. People are always greeting me by name. The problem is I’m really bad at attaching the correct name to a face even in ‘normal’ times, so when a face is half covered it takes a measurable amount of time to recognize a face before I can even start to find (in my cluttered mind) the name that goes with it.
One good thing about the present times is that I’ve found it is socially acceptable to say something like, “You know I’m having a real hard time recognizing people these days,” while I take a few seconds to search for the name. In the ‘before times’ I’d have to fill that gap with something like, “Oh, hi. How are you? How’s everything going?” which is just a little too obvious.

How can people recognize you when totally covered and only eyes and glasses showing.

Your eyes. They’re a give away.

I’ve been wondering this, myself. But I don’t take it as insult.

Personally, in all these layers of clothing plus masks, I find it hard just to move most days … ha.
