Adam’s hoping she’ll fail. He’s so jealous because it’s been easier for her than for him to get a book published. He should be happy for her.

He’s enjoying this schadenfreude moment, I’m sure!!!

All that and he gets to leisurely sip coffee. What’s not to love?

A shared experience can bring two people closer together.

Hopefully Adam will gain some perspective into what she puts up with at his deadlines and she will gain some empathy for what Adam faces at his deadlines

I suspect that Adam has experienced deadline pressure in the past and, for one reason or another, felt like she wasn’t understanding/appropriately sympathetic to the pressure. So she’ll experience it first hand for herself and know how he felt.

When someone finally “walks a mile in my shoes”, I appreciate their pain. From afar. With a donut.

Well… it is nice to know someone understands what one goes through (different from just “knowing”)

Adam better hope she doesn’t fail , they need a bread winner in the family.

OTOH, I’m optimistic that she’ll show him how it’s done, she’s already showed him how to write.

I bet she gives it up.
