I’ve got a willow tree behind my house. Years ago, my friends and I were hanging out under the tree when the youngest of us decided to climb the tree. Then we heard crack-snap-snap-snap-snap-snap-thud. My friend fell out of the tree from rather high up and landed on his back. Two things were in his favor that day. One, the resilience of youth and two; the mass of thin willow branches that broke his fall on the way down. Got up with nary a bruise.
Last weekend, my 5 year old granddaughter tried to climb a tree at a park. It was probably 20 or 30 feet tall. Fortunately, she only got about six feet up before she got stuck. She said she wanted to get to the top and “claim victory.” I helped her back down and then she didn’t know why I insisted she come back to the playground with her brother and me.
This was about the time Disney’s Tarzan was playing in theaters. My GF has the entire Disney Renaissance movie collection on DVD/BluRay. Tarzan was suppose to be the last of those movies.

He’s trusting another 10 year old with a possibly broken leg. Is he Doogie Howser, M.D.?

Jason could’ve been watching one of the “Die Hard” movies. Lord knows WHAT he’d have been climbing then…

And when you turn 11, maybe you’ll realize you shouldn’t climb that tree.

Most mothers would be running out hysterically at this point, not calmly giving medical advice to his friend.

Seems unlikely that Jason could easily climb a tree.

My Mom actually said that to me once, I had, after ignoring her advice about climbing a tree, fallen from the tree.
