Oh, Cathy. You have it so wrong, still thinking like a little girl instead of a grown woman. You can fantasize all you want, but you cannot control your reality and the people within it. Well, you can try, but you’ll end up making them neurotic too… (sigh)

Maybe Cathy should have married a psychiatrist? She would have been his greatest challenge yet.

It’s like finding a solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict. It’s easy to think of a solution; the hard part is getting everyone to go along with it

It seems that women marry with the idea that the guy might not be perfect, but think they can change the guy to meet their fantasy.

Guys, on the other hand, tend marry someone who seems to meet their fantasy at the time, but then they have difficulty when that person changes.

A wise friend I know (a guy) says nobody can change anybody but everybody changes. (except maybe Cathy)

For a person to change, they have to do it themselves.

She’s not talking about changing anyone, she doesn’t even have anyone in mind to change. Little did we know back then that Irving would be the eventual knight in shining armor – Aaack!
