I’m of partial German heritage, but I don’t know that much of the language. Can anyone elaborate the song?
In high school German classes I could read Goethe and Schiller and Heine and Theodor Storm, but I never learned colloquial German, so I needed to read a translation of this song. I was surprised by the reference to “Captain Kirk”.

How long does it take a for a baby to sleep through the night?!
Ich denk an dich und lassen fliegen. (I think of you and let it fly)
99 balloons
Better than mine and l was stationed there for three years….
Ausgezeichnet!
Sehr gut!
There are about a million other German songs that I like, from Volkslieder to Schlager , but this one I can’t stand.
I’ll bet they were all red, too.
