There is nothing quite like having a teenage trainee working beside you and having to text them to get them to pay attention to the in-service training you are conducting.
They misspelled “evolving.” Right now the technology is still new and we’re all experiencing growing pains. But it’s not just the young ones who zone out on a screen and need a few slaps on the face to rejoin the real world in actual conversation. That phase will pass soon enough. Similar fears existed as home phones were becoming ubiquitous – “no one will ever want to meet in person again!” Also telegraph lines (no more travel?), movable print (what of our oral traditions?!?), portable writing surfaces (no one will bother to remember anything!) … and I’m willing to bet cave paintings.

If Zack is really expecting a wise answer from Cagney, he’s barking up the wrong stairs. Cagney can only give him a ruff idea.
This probably indicates that he does need to get out and speak to some actual humans (in person).
