I had a neighbor who would listen to wall shaking gangster rap until 3-4-5 am while he wrote code. It took police intervention, 2 citations, and 1 jail booking for him to get the hint that he needed to wear headphones after 10 pm.
Used to have an upstairs neighbor who complained about my music – even blamed me for music that others must have been playing (since he also complained during my business trips when nobody was in my apartment)… my apartment had a ground floor patio, and one day I came home to find him hosting a party on my patio, and playing his music from one of his apartment’s windows much louder than anybody he complained about ever did…
It backfired on him – all of his complaining made the building manager sensitive, and the building manager called the cops to shut his party down… soon after he was evicted because he hadn’t been paying his rent.
