“Stickers” stumped me for a second. Being on a preschool playground made stickers possible. I used to call them “prickers”. If its a P.C. thing that’ll make me sad. If its a logistical wording thing (example: rotary/traffic circle/roundabout) then ~ ya learn something new every day!
When I was kid, thorns were on rose bushes and other shrub branches. “Stickers” were nasty little things about the size of a peanut that were vicious to step on. We also called them “goatheads.” I just researched them, and I think what we called goatheads were more accurately “sandspurs.” Regardless, they were a nuisance sticking to socks and canvas tennis shoes, and painful when encountered while running barefoot.

Dill and Beni better not stall like they did when Alice was trapped on a manhole cover surrounded by mud.

Do you still make an effort to save a damsel in distress even if she’s a dopey damsel?

“Stickers” to me meant burrs rather than thorns – the round brown plants that stuck to clothes.
