Several years ago (like in “over 10”) a co-worker mentioned he wanted an Apple Notebook (one of the smaller-sized laptops like around 10" screen.) So I printed out the Apple logo and glued it to the cover of a spiral notebook and had a note taped to it talking about how it’s so light-weight and portable, multi-language, hand-writing recognition, new stylus technology, the battery life was out of this world, etc, etc, etc and put it on his desk.
There is the old story of the first space mission, the American scientist struggled with the dilemma of developing a pen that could write in zero gravity. The Russians just took pencils.

The pencil is easily vanquished by reality.

I think it was just yesterday, that started a great debate somewhere here in gocomics.com . Something about graphite messing with instruments.

But Trout, your fingers are digital. It’s the opposable thumbs that really make this work.

Amazingly, Agnes is not the first person to use the lovely phrase “pencils of yore.”
