Hard to go to work when you have a kid with chicken pox. Too bad you’re divorced and have no one to share the stay-at-home duties with. Growing old with no one sucks too. “If he was perfect, he would have married better.”
When a couple of my siblings and I got the chicken pox, I don’t remember serious itching. I do remember that our mother wouldn’t let us play with the new baby (who didn’t get them).
I had them when I was seven. My great grandmother used (roughly a TON of) bandage tape to attach a couple of extra-thick and padded oven mitts to my hands. Probably shortened my recovery, but the itching DID drive me half-nuts!
