Not exactly the thing to do nowdays, but, I’d’ve done the same thing. In fifth grade I got fed up with people teasing me & made two of my tormentors eat grass. Smacked one with a handy stick, he ran home & told Daddy. Daddy came looking for blood. My Daddy asked him why his daughter would need to hit his son with a stick. Tormentor’s Daddy looked blank for a second, turned around & smacked his weasel of a son and we could hear him yelling at him all the way back down the block to their house…Of course, my Daddy mildly said there are better ways to handle these situations, b/f going back to his newspaper.
I was taught never to start a fight but if punched into it, don’t lose. Being a tiny little kid didn’t help me stay out of range. Got bullied a lot because of it but I was feisty, hard to intimidate (or catch) and admittedly encouraged a good percentage of what came my way.
I was bullied mercilessly until one of my older siblings taught me to fight back. Not only did the bullying stop, but I’ve had less trouble as an adult with random harassment than most other women I know.
