That’s a mean-spirited comment. Most old people don’t like giving up their independence, and they generally don’t want to move in with relatives. It’s hard enough for them without someone making a comment like that.
My recently deceased wife and I agreed to let her mother move in when she was diagnosed with dementia 5 years ago. All was working out well we could manage between the both of us, now it’s all on me not so much. Love em while you got people.
