This cartoon represents the viewpoint of the renegade “apostle” Paul, who contradicted Jesus on virtually every major point of theology, morality, law, ethics and doctrine. It is directly opposite the teaching of Jesus and echoed later by his brother James in direct rebuttal against Paul. Jesus and James taught that salvation was based solely on our ACTIONS based on universal compassionate “agape” love toward friends, strangers and even enemies.
After Jesus was baptized, went into the mountain for forty days to be tempted and was returning to Nazareth, he was greeted by his supporters and, there on the mountain, began his first public teaching, the Sermon on the Mount, in which he taught us to be compassionate towards not only loved ones, but also enemies (Matt chapters five through seven).
In the middle of his ministry, Jesus was asked by a lawyer of the Law of Moses “What shall I do to inherit ETERNAL LIFE?”
Jesus asked the lawyer what is the “greatest commandment” in the Law, and the Jewish lawyer quoted from the Old Testament law to love god [Deut 6:5] and LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF [Lev 19:18], as reported in the parable of the Good Samaritan, recounted in Luke 10:25-37.
Jesus answers that the lawyer is correct and says, “This do [not believe, but DO], and thou shalt live.”
Reminds me of the Army of the People’s Republic of China. In Mao’s army, everybody was equal but, of course, every army needs officers, even armies that wore the same uniform. Their solution, officers had more pockets.

¿Doing good is nothing, just swear fealty? This does not sound like a good god to me.
