Next year, for the centennial year of this strip, it would fun to center it on the original protagonist, Fritzi. Never share the stage with kids, they steal the scenes.

Brilliantly astute observation from OJ today (not so brilliant from Aunt Fritzi! :) ). This was EXCEPTIONAL today… because it is far, far too accurate in its assessment.
Just as a small aside…. for whatever reason….. perhaps because they are in such different areas of my queue…. I had not noticed (or had forgotten) that the Periquita WEEKDAY comics are only in black and white. It is interesting to see the color versus black and white forms. With the stark and dark lines (and minimal shading) OJ does for the coloration of the English version….. it is interesting how when it is black & white, the comic has very noticeable “Film Noir-esque” feel. In some ways, I think the black and white version actually works a bit better with Aunt Fritzi’s words today.

This is a good example of the old adage; So what happens when you are all out of good ideas? You get a bad idea.

The point where a bad idea becomes a good one is a magical time.

Start with the classics: caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol. Save the harder stuff for when you are rich and famous.

We do what our gut says and rationalize it as we go along, putting that primeval grunt into words.

She’ll get new ideas when the sleep-deprived hallucinations kick in. They will be a whole new type of not good ideas.
