How did anyone know their names? Were the names written in the back of their outfits?

This time, a little over 10 years ago, Richard posted a blog entry:

    http://richardspooralmanac.blogspot.com/2011/07/fourth-of-july.html

showing a July 4th themed CdS from 2006, before the strip began, and another entry

    http://richardspooralmanac.blogspot.com/2011/07/todays-cul-de-sac-for-last-week-or-so.html

regarding the last 9 non-Sunday strips.

was the first time this ran. It isn’t a restart of anything. Richard just chose to repeat it on 7/3/11, over a year before the strip ended and the first rerun began.

2021-2007 is 14 years. Isn’t that close to the Cicada cycle?

So apropos to what his actually happening in real time! Great artwork although slightly different than I’m used to seeing. This must be one of his earlier syndicated strips because, according to Wikipedia, he started the strip in one magazine from 2004-2007 when it entered into syndication. It ran until 2012.

Fun to see these old ones and see all the ways it evolved over the years. Not only did the artwork change, but subtlety’s in character mannerisms too. Veeeery interesting.

The first time it ran in the paper, it coincided with the Washington DC cicada emergence. Missed this year’s by a couple weeks. I loved it then and I still love it!

    All hail, SUPERBUG!

Alice has created a monster! Or, monsters. Peter seems at least a little bit scared. Petey has given Alice too much power….
