I object to the passing of time. Lets debate whether yesterday is in the past…
New York Times The Interpreter: When dictators reach into America — “The Russians grab a lot of headlines,” said Alexander Cooley, a Columbia University political scientist, referring to the recent poisoning of a former Russian spy exiled in Britain. “But it’s not just Russia and it’s not just China,” he said. “It’s Rwanda, Turkey. It’s Tajikistan. It’s become a much more standard part of the playbook of autocrats in smaller and middling powers.” Most of us in the United States and other democratic countries do not yet feel the effects of transnational repression, which foreign autocrats are usually careful to aim only at dual nationals or refugees like Mr. Imin. And maybe we never will. But it is perhaps just a matter of time until those boundaries get tested, too.
Quote of the Day — Timothy Snyder, a Yale University historian: If your platform is that elections do not work, you are saying that you intend to come to power some other way. The big lie is designed not to win an election, but to discredit one.
This acquiescence to the skunk being a manager reminds me of the time I dreamt my wife and I were in the employ of then-Interior Secretary James Watt. All I remember is that I kept saying “Why are we working for this scumbag? How does this even happen?”
We seem to be accepting as fact, that Carmen is Stantis’ alter ego. If true, we are watching him wrestle with his conscience. It occurs to me there a a whole lot of Americans that are starting to see that many of their beloved “family members” are truly scum, but they’ve been a part of that “family” so long, that it is very hard to abandon or condem them.
Well, it’s baseball’s turn at the plate. After all, Ohio State should be the National Champs, and Kansas City should have won Super Bowl LV. The Buckeyes’ game was rigged, and the Super Bowl was stolen. Am I right? /s
They’ll come to Iowa for reasons they can’t even fathom. They’ll turn up your driveway, not knowing for sure why they’re doing it. They’ll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past.
“Of course, we won’t mind if you look around,” you’ll say. “It’s only twenty dollars per person.” They’ll pass over the money without even thinking about it. For it is money they have and peace they lack.
And they’ll walk out to the bleachers, and sit in shirt-sleeves on a perfect afternoon. They’ll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they’ll watch the game, and it’ll be as if they’d dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick, they’ll have to brush them away from their faces.
People will come, Ray.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball.
America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It’s been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.
This field, this game — it’s a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again.
What ever happened to that great old tradition of former presidents retiring to their farm and SHUTTING UP FOREVER until they attended the funeral of one of the other former presidents, and why didn’t that tradition become a law?
Same old, same old, Scott. Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, Democrats and the left get a pass on their claims of election fraud but President Trump is soooooo bad. Hypocrisy and TDS is on blatant display here.

The idiotic stuff the current Whitehouse is forcing upon us is way funnier/tragic than what the previous occupant is accused of.

The names Goose Gossage, and George Brett come to mind. Along with the words pine and tar. The most famous MLB protest ever.

Do the country a favor someone and disband the Repulsican Crime Family and forbid members from holding public office.

I know this is impossible and UNCONSTITUTIONAL, but that has never stopped THE FAMILY when they do things like this.
