    Teachings of my Origin,,,those who give their lives for a good cause and for the betterment of others, are called martyrs, why aren’t they called martyrs here? Just trying to point out and understand the cultural difference.

    They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

    Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

    At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

    We will remember them.

    They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;

    They sit no more at familiar tables of home;

    They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;

    They sleep beyond the ocean’s foam.

    From “For the Fallen”. Laurance Bynion. 1914

    Unfortunately, Too many don’t even have a clue what it’s like to serve their country!

    There are two heroes left in my family, my dear brother and brother-in-law, both Naval Vets. All the rest are gone. My past is gone, all of them.

    Thank you for your service! I love you dearly…..

    It is unfortunate that so many forget the sacrifices the military has made for us that allow us to say and do much of what we do. Even those in the military that died for poor decisions by politicians should be honored and remembered instead of treated as if they were/are expendable cannon fodder.

    Great tribute, Brian and Jeff. I expected Yaffle wearing a military jacket and saluting with a wing.
