Happy summer vacation you both!!

It must be almost real…Red is barefoot!

Summer vacations during elementary school always seemed to last forever just like the old Beach Boys album. Now the summer months are like a flash in the pan for me. I guess it all depends on your frame of reference: 3 months seems like an eternity to an 8 year old (and is a substantial percentage of their life experience) while it is a heckuva lot less to those of us who had their school vacations back in the ’70s and early ’80s…..

Also when I was a kid it was okay to ride around with friends on our banana seat bikes all day to the park, little league field, local mall, local swimming pool, 7-11, etc. and stay out until it was time for dinner, nowadays it seems a lot less safe for kids to do such things without some parental supervision. Times change.

Awesome, the summer escapades are about to commence. More rockets, the twins ( the pool ), Zeke & Reuben and Popsicle Peter with his vintage ice cream truck. Lace up those RED KEDS cuz I am all in baby! Ha

Summertime – Summertime!!! Hooray!

Is tomorrow the last day? I’m so excited for you guys! And looking forward to months of Summer fun ;)

What backwater are the living in? School has been out for three weeks here.

Bah Humbug! Summer vacation is supposed to go from June 1 to September 1.

I hated school! It was a waste of time in 50-60s…

Summer vacation is right around the corner when Red is barefoot. Pretty soon all he’ll be wearing are shorts, and, when needed, flipflops. And is that Popsicle Pete I hear?

Then do the homework first.

When I was in school, summer vacation was from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
