Um, 56 stars?

I’m with you, Granny. Including the men and women who wear a star.

1st comic I’ve seen today about Flag Day.

The flag in the comic has an oddly-organized field of stars. At first it seemed to be 49 stars — but in a plain 7×7 rectangle, which was not actually the arrangement during the one year when we actually had 49 states (Alaska but not yet Hawaii). But on further look, there is an extra star at the top row left end, for 50 after all. But not the clever interlaced scheme of the actual 50-star flag design!
