You can drive a $3+m Bugatti or drive a paid for beat up pickup and give the millions to the Health Pavilion. Marcus may be generally cheap, but he does give generously to a good cause.
Sam Walton, founder of Walmart, in 1979, Sam purchased a Ford F150 Custom Model with a four-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drive. After more than a few aftermarket dents and scrapes, it came to symbolize Sam’s own humble nature and the humility he expected from his executives and associates.
“I just don’t believe a big showy lifestyle is appropriate. Why do I drive a pickup truck? What am I supposed to haul my dogs around in, a Rolls Royce?” ~ Sam Walton
“… millions in the bank”? Better get ‘em out of there and put them to work as investments because with this inflation he’s going to lose a lot of money.
His Heisman trophy must not have meant that much to him; if he didn’t keep up with it himself. He is wise to not splurge his money, because athletes’ careers are not guaranteed to last. But he should live a life to make good memories. IMO.
older pickups have fewer parts to break. You can drive it anywhere and not care who parks next to you. Resale value is pretty good. EX: I have an older F@%). I paid 1k for it, put 1K into it and it’s still worth 1k(with gas)

When Marcus lives below his means, he lives WAY below his means.
