Terry, we celebrated Mother’s Day on Saturday, because the one brother of LilG’s that could come, has to work tomorrow. We had a big Indian feast with an array of East Indian dishes. It was terrific.

Jor-El - With all of Doc’s nuclear coffee and the military coffee, I don’t think I have much to worry about.

Carmy, I love Dad’s Root Beer. Licorice (anise) is the secret ingredient that gives it a distinct sassafras taste.

Jor-EL, I didn’t know that. Thanks for the info. I don’t usually like anise, but apparently it goes well with the Dad’s. Did there used to be a Bub’s root beer?

A lot of people use A&W root beer, but I find it to be too sweet. There are several different brands out there and depending on what area you live in, Dad’s may not be available.

Carmy, Root Beer World lists 2535 brands of root beer, but I didn’t see Bub’s.

Thanks Jor-El, I’m probably thinking of something else.

Now, I’m going to have to taste all those root beers. Let’s see, 2535 root beer floats equals how many gallons of ice cream?

That was too many root beers! I remember Frosty’s. I think I would like to try Boris Karloff’s.

Now that my movie’s over, I’m going to try to get some work done around the house. Got a load of laundry in the dryer now and I want to get the kitchen cleaned up today. Yesterday I cleaned up my office. Lots of shreaded paper, but now I can see my desk and the carpeting on the floor.

The kitchen’s not that bad though. I just need to clean the dishes counter-tops & stove.

A lovely, cool May day here. Almost needed long sleeves when headed out for church.

I’m just puttering about, working a bit here and a bit there in the kitchen. Found a potato salad recipe online to make for the luncheon Wednesday.

I’m watching Signs right now. Figured since I’d seen it I could just go in and out, but I’m typing with 3/4 of my eyes on the TV. When this is over I go immediately to DHC or TLC, where I’ve seen the programs at least 500 times.

So I’m off. Ya’ll have a great day.

Oh Jor-el, thanks for the lovely spread. I’m making some chicken wings to add for an appetizer. Some people just like that little bit to start. Or for a meal. Whatever.

Hello everyone and a late Mother’s Day to everyone. I too had a nice one. I missed out on ones talking about Office software from 2003 to 2007. Where I work at I was one of the last ones to get it makes me mad but I really don’t count there. The only difference in the software it’s just broken down more. The Admin. staff got in the software over a year ago and I think one of the top people is getting a newer one. I wish everyone be thinking good thoughts I have an interview at a different location same type of place but full time. Then a possible one for another pt more hours, I work only 20 hours and treated bad at times everyone goes to Admin. Assist or morning Office Specialist, the other position is for 32 hours but I hope I can move to full time.

Mean time not to be repetitive my rt should continues to get better I see specialist where stitches gets removed. But have to ask the Dr. why is my shoulder hurting when it gets cold out and weather change, side note all arthritis was removed. I am still happy I had the surgery done almost a month ago and I continue to do stretching and get messages taken away the soreness.

Well back to work afternoon tomorrow.

((EMET)) - I think almost all parents of kids in their 20’s have it rough. In many ways, it is harder than when they were younger, as now, you have to let them make ALL their own choices. Sons don’t seem to be as close as daughters to their moms, or know how to express their love, but the older they get, the more mushy they get with their cards. I don’t know that we ever get as much thanks from our sons as we need, but it does get better - usually.

Hey Rmon I know my mom is worried about the weather. I do hope it waits. I live in sw Wichita. And if you remember what Clearwater and Haysville went through. We are a few miles from Haysville. I have to drive to Lake Afton there is a lower level basement there. One time I had to stay 1 1/2 hour longer due to a long system had to hurry and shut down computer and lock everything up. Supervisor was pushing it. I think two weeks later Lake Afton on a Saturday did get hit by a small tornado and could see the path. I can’t put my car in the garage either not big enough and not enough money for hail repairs. Are you going to Riverfest I doubt we do?

I hope all mom’s and mom’s to be had a wonderful Mother’s Day I certainly did. Had a delicious strawberry with jello pie and broke down and had a chocolate hope I don’t pay for it. I break out with a rash and can’t sleep. But with pain meds hope that over rides otherwise I will be reading. It’s bed time good night all what a great and busy weekend. The town that had garage sales where a tad to high.

When it comes to sour notes, at C&H or FBoFW, or some other places, I try (1) to reason with them. When (if) that fails, (2) I ignore them.

Kab - I well remember those tornadoes and many others. When we were still living in Wichita, the path of the tornado that hit Andover went within a mile of our house. We’ve moved out to Butler county now. I don’t get scared, but I do try to stay alert and take precautions. Well, time to go to bed. Good night!

Kab - Oh, and no, we won’t be going to the River Festival. We quit going around the time they started serving beer. The crowds got rowdier, and we got older. Just not as much fun. Too bad the hot air balloons got cancelled due to the wind. We got to help one year with chasing one, that was fun.

I’m getting used to that idea, Bmonk. I find it works the best. That way I can stay happy which I prefer. lol

I had a fun day today. Sunny and warm, LilG and I took her mom on an artist’s studio tour north of here and enjoyed driving through the countryside and checking out artist’s work. We bought a couple of items and then had a picnic on the beach at Birch Bay State Park, before meandering home to sit on our deck with a glass of wine as the sun dipped behind the mountain.

Off to watch a movie.
