i guess i’m first. hasn’t happened in a long time. have to see if i remember the recipe for breakfast. let’s see, where’s the cell phone?

breakfast menu. sorry no extravaganzas today. just eggs any way you like as long as it’s scrambled. with sides of bacon, sausage (links and patties - take your pick), and ham slices. also home fried potatoes, hash browns, or grits. to drink, a selection of fruit juices, the ubiquitous DocT’s world famous nuclear coffee straight from the pipeline, and/or Earl Grey Tea. and i almost forgot the toasted English muffins, or toasted whole wheat bread. bon appetit!

and, if anyone wants waffles or pancakes, i have IHOP on speed dial and can make a run down ther to pick some up (as long as i don’t have trouble at the border).

I almost never watch the Weather Channel, since the announcers love to stand in front of the Rocky Mountains/Great Plains to point to the Midwest and East Coast, and then they stand there again to point to the West Coast. And then repeat. You used to get about 5 seconds of seeing what’s happening out here, and then 20 minutes of not being able to see a thing.

LOL - I was watching a local show as the weather was on and I have an errand to run

Commercials? They seem to be describing the weather, in other places. Then they wave over 1/3 of the country in, as I said, about 5 or 10 seconds, and continue to describe the weather in other places.

LoneWerewolf, I started my day at 1AM. Got into work at 2. The first order of business was to climb up to the top of these silos so that we could get a measurement of the tank level. I felt like I was climbing the steps of the Empire State building. I’m not sure how high up, but these steps are pretty tricky wearing shoes & other equipment that I only wear once a year.

My legs are still killing me. After that I did my regular close-related activities and reconciled the count to our accounting system. I got out at 3PM, but I was lucky that our sister plant in KY was on T/A all month.

I think I’ll spend the rest of the night upstairs. I’ve had my fill of climbing stairs today.

And because of my situation with my teeth being pulled, I had to decline a free breakfast and a free lunch.

It’s it sucks to be me day.

At least you have the weekend now.

Hello everyone. Boy what a great day. We had a costume contest at work, department, small groups or single. There were no singles, one small group (Men in Black with a dang good looking gun, homemade in an hour the night before). Documentation had sashes, crowns and paper rose bouquets, each sash had an attribute or somesuch on it. There was Excited, Mysterious, Infant (a new clerk) and they held up the sash of the one missing, Absence.

My group dressed up as types of cargo. There was Medical Supplies decked out in white coat, stethoscope and a crown made of tongue depressors. My cube mate was Cotton Queen 2010 and had cotton balls on her sash, the palm of a white glove had cotton balls and she had one cotton ball on each cheek. Then there was Auto Parts, he had a hat with a catburator on top and grease on his sash. And I was prohibited cargo, live animals, and wore my articulated lions head mask, furry gloves and my tail, with a robe and cloak.

I am proud to say our team took first place. We get bragging rights and a free breakfast.

Gotta go back on the toon tour. I’ll be lurking.

Ah…good evening. I wasn’t aware anyone was here. I often come in and listen to my own voice echo in the empty hall.

That happens to us all at one time or another.

I rather enjoy it. I was a paper boy, some forty years ago, and enjoyed walking the normally bustling streets in the wee hours of darkness. I learned to be quiet, and to listen. Sometimes the quiet, alone times are the best.

There was a used car lot on my route, in south Ft. Worth, and for two weeks they had a 1963 Jaguar XKE on the lot. I discovered, about the second night, that they never locked that car’s doors. It was British Racing green, with tan leather interior, and I sat in that car to wait for my deliveries. The smell of the leather was magnificent, and the AM radio worked without a key in the ignition. It was a decadent, criminal pleasure to listen to the radio in a car of that quality.

I suppose this place is like that. The doors are never locked, and the quality is excellent. Even if it is AM.
