Sister Kab I read your comment from yesterday just a bit ago. You asked me how I can manage to fit in my time here at Gocomics despite my college work load. It’s simple really. After I’m done studying for the night and get ready for bed. I make a quick post here. As for the weekends, I wake up at 5 AM in the morning and study till 9 or 9:30 AM on Saturday and Sunday. Then I’m here or out and about.

Hello all for myself I hardly have time for GC. I am just briefly here for short time right now I just finished a test and have 3 more to go. One subject my grade is going up. This one is very detailed on work I like this and my grade should go up. The other is different for on-line we don’t work as detailed and not doing that great. I dread mid-term covers multiple chapters.

Little Sister great for you, since you are young you can absorb better.

I must admit subject that is picking up more is medical terminology. I have been working hard on this subject thanks to way lessons are broke down I can’t pronounce some of the words. I guess for me quick scanning helps.

EIDo - Hopefully that will just be a release of pressure. An earthquake and a hurricane are two things I havn’t experienced. I got another photo of the leaf color change with better lighting although it looks better at PB.

EIDo - That would be an experience to go through! Yellowstone and Washington state are getting a lot of acvtivity now. At least I can go to the basement for tornadoes and usually have advance notice. Earthquakes are another matter though!

EIDo - Thunderstorms can be a great experience! Sometimes you get more than you bargin for if you try to get out into them. Generally I enjoy them. I think that’s because I enjoy changes, the seasons, night and day, hot and cold, etc.

EIDo - I’ve seen some houses that have one small room on top (2nd or 3ed story) with windows on all four sides. That would be a great bedroom to see the sunrise, sky, storms, snow, etc. especially if it had skylights in the roof.

So glad to see the menu Sojo I just picked up some of Grog’s Bacon and eggs, buttered some biscuits for a high tea with Doc’s N Coffee I am now GONE *:)

first a periscope, then the conning tower followed by the sub itself, gliding majestically into the Big Top dock. There are dents and dings, and the blinding glow of * Doc’s Nuclear Coffee and/or submarine fuel *is barely discernible. But the craft is not limping into port as it had in the past. Indeed, the hatch in the con tower opens, Captain Quaby steps out and to the side as the docking crew boils out like ants in a disturbed nest, tossing cables, ropes and anything else they can find to secure the vessel.

A wave of the hand and a quickly flashed smile and the docking crew bolts for the Big Top. A hand signal towards the periscope and moments later the rest of the shore party swarms out, following their maties. All that’s left is the skeleton crew, completing the stand down of the vessel. Captain Quaby climbs back into the interior, like all true Captains he does not leave until the crew is taken care of.

Fortunately in what laughingly passes as real life I”m making a huge pot of chili to be serviced with rice, jalapenos and cheese. It’s chili with beans…probably more beans than meat these days but protein is protein.

I’ve got to continue tidying up my desk. I have obtained one of those wonder desk thingies that folds up and holds your stuff. I think that will be a big help in keeping order on my desk.

Have a good evening Ladyhawk - If you see this later I’m having a great day today. Sorry I didn’t answer sooner but I was trying to do some things I needed to on the ‘puter and lose track of time. I use to work a lot at night, 12 hours or more and slept during the day. During the winter I would never see the sun and only a couple of hours in the summer. About the same as working inside all day and never seeing the sun!

Hi, tribe! Grog - I think you’re right about it being Watterson. The fact “Hobbes” has been a member since 2008, but this is his first comment makes the odds pretty high, in my opinion.

Rmom, I wondered but sort of jumped on the bandwagon when I saw others who also thought so.

It seems like it to me, thanks Grog for mentioning it so I could read it!

I would like to think GoComics keeps closer watch on ‘impersonators’. That if someone claiming to be the creator of a comic isn’t, it would be removed and the offending party blocked.

If you hadn’t said anything about it here, I wouldn’t have seen it. I’ve been on the road a fair amount of the day, so skipped reading the comments on my other strips.

That’s the thing, Quaby, Hobbes didn’t claim to be the creator. He just wrote as though he is the tiger Hobbes. However, the content & tone are such that it “sounds” like Watterson.

We do know that several of the other strips’ creators read and occasionally post here, so he wouldn’t be the first to do so.

Whenever Doc is up, he might check in at Adam@Home again. Cleo asked a question that I think Doc would enjoy answering.

Some use their own names when communicating, or the strip name or even a character in the strip, so I believe it’s possible. Being as reclusive as Watterson is, he’d probably not had the urge to comment on the stip (though he had been monitoring apparently) until after the attack on Marg.

Being as reclusive as he is, I doubt he’d even admit to being Watterson.

Grog: I don’t think that was Watterson…I think it was really Hobbes. I mean if M.Smokey can regularly comment on Say La Vee, then stuffed animals must have a way of communicating with GoComics.

When Wiley or Pab or Mark Tatulli join the commentary, they make it clear.

Frankr - I think as reclusive as Watterson has been, this is his way of “hiding behind the mask”. I know Steve Skelton (of 2 cows & a chicken) and Bill Hinds (Cleats) don’t comment every day, but they have commented several times at their own strips. It is pretty common for them to use the artwork for one of their characters as their avatar.

Then there’s Thom, Brian Barrett, Dan Reynolds, Lucas Turnbloom and of course Wiley Miller among others who may comment from time to time.

Well, one consideration is that C&H is decades old. It seems to me that the current cartoonists would have more immediate interest in reaction to their efforts.

On the other hand, what else does Bill Watterson have to do. It’s not like he’s busy cranking out tomorrow’s strip, LOL.

It was a nice comment as I read it. I do not approve of the attack on Marg. I don’t approve of anyone getting attacked by cyber bullies.

True, Frankr. But we do know he likes to keep to himself. I doubt we’ll see another post from him in quite some time unless he’s taken by the warmth of his fanbase here so much that he may be inclined to do so….but I can’t see that coming.
