Sluggo looks pretty scared. Either the bizarre formation of those bugs is so unnatural that it triggers his fear, or Nancy’s playing is really that bad.
Hmm…. Sluggo must be rather staunchly severe in his appraisal of Nancy’s trombonistic skills…. her quarter notes all appear with straight lines, and so must be fairly consistent (normal trope is to show poor, wobbly tones with a wavy note line) and the largeness of the note suggests a full, round tone as well.
Now… on the other hand, the cicadas….. ooooh…. creepy. :)
