She has got that wrong. Hydrogen sulphide is the gas. This can be later converted to sulphuric acid (not a gas) by biological action, but that not what is happening here.
Except that hydrogen sulfide (swamp gas) is a gas and sulfuric acid (battery acid) is a liquid. Most likely the H Sulfide gas would stop escaping as bubbles once it was turned into a liquid.
There’s a world of difference between hydrogen sulfide (aka hydrosulfuric acid) and hydrogen sulfate (aka sulfuric acid). That woman clearly has no idea what the difference is.
