In our household, my lovely wife signals me that the miniature poodle wants out by tapping the floor three times with the walking/coyote defense stick. Sophie the Hound hears the signal and comes in the basement. I close the dog door and let wife know. Poodle-doodle goes and putters around for a few minutes. When they come back inside, I have to jerk the dog door out of Sophie’s way so she won’t bend it again rushing outside to cover what poodle left.
My dog Petey is only 1/8th Huskie per his DNA test, but his feet twitch and jerk on the rug by the door waiting for the door to open, and when it does he shoots out the door and the rug moves with equal force in the opposite direction, proving Newton’s third law of motion multiple times every day.

GOOD Doggie held it in. Many say “Any spot will do”.

With Huskys, never say “Out” before the door is open.

I think that’s a resounding ‘yes’.
