Was he even offered Botany?
I regret not taking courses in Library Science.
Maple leaves are the only tree leaves that I can identify with certainty. Well, those and the leaves of the “not maples”.
The strip which definitively raises the question – "Why go through all the trouble photoshopping all those steel engravings together if you’re going to cover them up with gigantic text balloons? "
The baloons are kind of the point, more than the engravings which merely provide an interesting context.
Reminiscent of R. Crumb, whose balloons took up entire panels, so the character speaking was shown lying flat on the bottom edge .
i regret that it never occurred to me earlier in life that one day i might read a comic strip about a failure to think about taking botany…
