Relative was in college a long time ago doing experiments on cats. Was supposed to kill experimental subjects at end of experiment, but had gotten very attached to them so took them home to the farm and they became the “barn cats” that took care of mice and were fed extra milk. Cats seemed quite happy with their fate.
