I used to have a neighbor who drove a motorcycle to work. He left at 4 AM.

If you had the foresight to be insanely wealthy, you could now buy an estate so big that you couldn’t hear any neighbours.

We live in an acreage in the country. The sounds are a bit different…quads in the summer, snowmobiles in the winter; chainsaws and rider mowers; horses and cows; wild fowl, coyotes and foxes; shotguns at dawn during hunting season. No street lights, sidewalks or gridlock. Works for me.

I will soon live in a condo on the beach on Okaloosa Island, FL. The sounds of the waves lapping against the beach are not all that annoying. . .

They are so going to move into the country, as soon as Jr. goes off to college.

    Hopefully, they tell Jr.

This time of year in my drought area, you’re more likely hear to the roar of industrial-grade weed trimmers, which are louder than lawnmowers and more disturbing, because the noise changes under varying load. It sounds like a chain saw.
