My mom’s spice shelf was almost that bland.

The first time I smelled za’atar, I thought I’d gone to heaven. Soooo amazing!

Subjecting other people to the odors of your overspiced food sounds like a fundamental right, until someone sits down next to you and starts eating kimchi with durian for dessert.

Salt is not a spice. It is a mineral that is used as a seasoning.

Hummus? Tabouleh? Curry? Ginger? Lamb curry with saffron rice?

Not everyone WANTS to eat spicy food. Not everyone CAN. The food you think of as perfectly spiced, I probably consider tortuously, painfully hot.

I can’t tolerate food that the people who love me dearly consider to be completely mild. I do, however, appreciate the flavors that are naturally a part of many foods, delicate as they may be.

A little open-mindedness on BOTH parties here would go a long way.

If you are eating a Liederkranz and sardine sandwich, I’m going to tell you how offensive it is. Your ‘business’ is disrupting my ‘business’
