You finally reach adulthood when you realize that, on a moment to moment basis, most people, all the way up to a poorly selected President-substitute, are just winging it.
It’s amazing how long we think this way, even when we’re aware of it. We see everyone else from the outside, just as they all see us. We see ourselves from the inside with all the doubts and questions and second-guessing and so forth. We may know this, but we still fail to realize that our outside looks just as good to everyone else as theirs does to us, and their inside is just as chaotic as ours. Ah, humans.
