Get him to sign the enlistment papers first before you ask him to go on suicide missions.
My nephew did that. 2 tours in Afghanistan & 1 in Iraq, or the other way around. They wouldn’t let him re-enlist because his health care costs kept rising.

They don’t mention what Job they are recruiting for.
They sometimes hint that MAYBE they need someone to protect the Beaches in Hawaii, but they never Promise.
They just figure that, if you survive your encounters with the IEDs, you can stop off in Hawaii on the way home.
