Gee Stantis, what lesson, EXACTLY, are you referring to?

Maybe the lesson of what happens EVERY Goddam time Republicans* are in charge?

    .

*Republicans are now entirely the Party of Trump.

The lesson is the same one that Eisenhower taught.

Beware the Military-Industrial Complete and the Technocratic Elite.

The lesson is the same one taught by our founders:

“No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.”, James Madison.

Avoid the necessity of those overgrown military establishments, which are inauspicious to liberty, and which are to be regarded as particularly hostile to Republican Liberty.", George Washington.

And the inheritors of our founders:“It is in war that the State really comes into its own: swelling in power, in number, in pride, in absolute dominion over the economy and the society.”, Murray Rothbard

It is also a lesson that We the People are supposed to restrain our government and be in charge of it. But instead we continue to turn power over to them and then complain when we lose freedom, prosperity, and the proper place of government in society – as protectors of our natural rights, not tramplers of them.

I don’t think the lesson has been learned yet, a group of people what us to go back. The military and state department say they are engaging with the Taliban on a “Limited” basis.

Yeah, Right. Those who fail to learn from history, just really learn to fail and we never really learned anything did we. I am not political just making a statement. What is the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

I guess he forgot about Nam. Twenty years to learn; five minutes to forget.

You know, that’s exactly what the people of the Soviet Union thought when they pulled out of Afghanistan after twenty years. Their departure wasn’t pretty, either.

This has always been a war loving country. The lesson will never be learned.

They haven’t learned how to handle a US flag, apparently. My last year of high school, I folded the flag properly at the end of each day, along with my friend Mark, whose fellow ROTC member never showed up for his supposed duty, so he always folded it neatly and per ritual with me and my neck-length golden tresses, and then he’d give me a lift home in his pickup and we’d laugh at tasteless jokes together.

Anyway, you fold it in quarters the long way, and then one of you walks to the other, folding in triangles as you approach so that the stars end up on top, and then take it inside and put it on the shelf by the receptionist’s desk.

Nope, more than 20 years, much more! Since we think we are so damn smart, why do we make the same mistake over and over and over, and………………………
