    The little schools are paid millions by the bigger schools to play them. This way the bigger school can run up the stats of their team or Heisman candidate… And the small schools can finance their sports departments…

    ..and the little school is invariably on the road, like Southeast Iowa State Teacher’s College at Oklahoma (-72 1/2) for Homecoming Weekend in Norman. Gotta win for the alumni/donors…

    Gotta build up the stats by beating up on small programs… can help the athletes build their own stats so they can sell their own merchandise…

    It’s interesting that it’s “big rich” and “poor little” schools. The wealth adjective and the size adjective are in different places respectively, and it would sound weird if either were reversed. “rich big” and “little poor” just don’t sound right.

    To be fair – some of the REALLY rich schools field some of the worst football teams – Harvard has by far the biggest endowment in the country, with most of the top 10 being Ivies, or maybe a Stanford or MIT
