Roger nailed it
Is the recorder not programmable or is he afraid that someone else will tape a different show?
I remembered when this happened. Didn’t we lose some great shows because of the strike?
That hasn’t changed in 21 years.
In all the years since this strip was published not one thing has changed.
How many more comic book movies are they going to make? Enough already. Use a little imagination and make something original.
And 21 years later, nothing’s changed but the ticket prices. Thank God for Roku…thousands of free movies (and occasionally even a good one).
Another wave of “Reality” programming.
That’s exactly how reality shows started in the 1980’s…
Well, it seems to me that when we just had 3 channels and they all were free,we had some really great weekly shows and the movies were great! And cheap! And the music….OMG! Still some of the best ever!It is easy to understand.
I stopped going to movies when I could anticipate the next scene before it happened.
Interesting. There was this other comic commenting on the same thing today:

i’m hoping for CSI: Mayberry
Addition by subtraction.
What will she think of right now?
That came close to happening recently but not the actors. strike did not happen behind the scene workers settled. One prior they did strike.
It was all of those strikes that lead to reality TV really getting a foothold for programming – how’d that work out for ya?
