Heck, just what the league needs, extra flags to go along with the phantom holding, offsides illegal procedures and the iffy PI calls that seem to come up and change momentum. I know a Detroit Lion fan that is convinced the ref burn his team via the flag at every possible turn probably to cover a point spread or the money-line and it honestly does seem like his team has managed to lose in many fascinating ways with a lot of flags mixed in with those losses.
Anyhow, it is aggravating when the refs take over a game via the flags and every fan is thinking his team is getting jammed while someone related to the ref probably has a 5 digit bet at some book in Vegas, offshore or elsewhere. However, the truth is the refs often call a sloppy game and bad teams always find a way to lose via mistakes and penalties while good teams manage to find that W after making similar mistakes or getting bush league flags from the refs thus Detroit fan gets angry as his team finds many ways to go 0-5. I know how it feels being a Tampa Buc fan, there have been many a 4-12 or 5-11 season where the Bucs lost games in amazingly inept fashion just like 2021 clubs like the Lions or the Jags (I wonder if Urban Meyer has had his agent call the LSU and USC ADs yet to test the water). .
I blame the emphasis on calling every minor infraction on replays. When anyone at home can rewind a tape, find something minor, and whine about the injustice of that missed call, the leagues have to take note and do something about it.
I’m with Teto on this. I yearn for the days where the receiver makes a great catch against great defense and then simply walks back to the huddle. Or when a player scoring a touchdown just walks from the endzone back to the sidelines. I can deal with those who take a quick knee to thank their deity but that’s about it. Just get your butt back to the bench and skip the dance line antics.

When you score a touchdown or make any other play, act like it’s something you have done before, not some once in a lifetime accident.
