The sanitation trucks in my neighborhood are always in a hurry. The faster they finish their route, the quicker they can get home.

My sympathies, Yukoneric. That does suck. Ours comes in the afternoon. Plenty of time to get it out there in case we forget the night before, which we usually do.

Mine comes around 4:30 to 6 AM. You know that noise the trucks make when they turn the garbage over, that grinding sound. It seems like when I have extra garbage they stop in front of my house and grind and grind and grind. Coincidence?

They should do what most ships do and tear holes in the bags and dump them overboard.

Our county has some kind of ordinance that the garbage trucks can’t some before 7 am. Last Friday, the recycle trucks came at 6:30 - wasn’t sure if that was allowed or not, but they made a lot of noise too.

The garbage truck here comes at a reasonable time. I always give the guys cold bottled water. It’s hot here in FL!

yguy, they’re floating in an ocean of trash now….just don’t find trashing the environment a fit topic for comedy. Not that the strip was about that, just some of the comments.

On the right side of the screen, the description of this strip has always puzzled me. “…His human companions not only have to deal with Louie and his requests, but also the many problems they face living at sea, like dolphins eating their garden, and sea monsters taunting Louie….” My question - What dolphins? I have never seen a dolphin in this strip. I see outrageous rabbits eating gardens but nary a single dolphin. Did they leave with the pirates in the crow’s nest? I can see a dolphin-rabbit-mice conspiracy in the future!
